MagicBook is an AI-powered platform that creates personalized, illustrated storybooks where your child is the hero. Upload a photo, choose a theme, and our AI generates a unique storybook of up to 10 pages with custom illustrations and a personalized narrative.

MagicBook is designed for parents, legal guardians, and educators who want to create special, personalized books for children. The platform is used by adults — children under 13 cannot create accounts.

The book creation process takes approximately 15-30 minutes from start to finish. You’ll spend a few minutes providing inputs (photo, name, theme), then our AI generates the story and illustrations. You’ll receive a notification when your book is ready to download.

Yes! All books are delivered as high-resolution PDF files that are print-ready. You can use any print-on-demand service (such as Lulu, Blurb, or your local print shop) to create a beautiful physical book.

For best results, upload a clear, well-lit photo with the child facing the camera. Good options include:

• School photos or portrait-style shots
• Well-lit indoor or outdoor snapshots
• Photos where the child’s face is clearly visible

Avoid group photos, heavily filtered images, or photos where the child’s face is partially hidden.

Your child’s original photograph is used only to generate an AI illustration description. After the book is complete, the original photo is deleted from our active processing systems within 30 days. Photos are never shared with third parties for advertising, used to train AI models, or made publicly accessible.

AI-generated illustrations are artistic interpretations in a storybook watercolor style — they are not photographic reproductions. The illustrations capture key features like hair color, eye color, and general appearance, but they are stylized to fit the storybook aesthetic. Most parents find the results charming and recognizable.

We offer flexible pricing options:

• Single Book: $7.99 per book (1 credit)
• Family: $19.99/month (10 credits)
• Unlimited: $39.99/month (unlimited books)

Monthly subscription credits do not roll over to the next month. However, credits bought as a Single Book do not expire for 12 months from the date of purchase.

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Account settings. After cancellation, you’ll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period. Your books remain in your library and can be downloaded for 30 days after account closure.

We offer refunds in the following cases:

• Technical failures: If a book fails due to a technical error, we refund the credit or provide a replacement.
• First subscription: 7-day refund on your first subscription payment if no books were generated.
• Defective books: If image generation fails on more than 2 pages, we offer a full refund or complimentary regeneration.

We cannot offer refunds based solely on dissatisfaction with AI-generated artistic style or likeness accuracy.

Currently, you can request regeneration of individual pages ($1.00 per page). Full story editing after generation is not yet available, which is why we include the outline approval step — this is your opportunity to ensure the story direction meets your expectations before illustrations are generated.

Books are stored in your account for as long as your account is active, and for 30 days after account closure. We strongly recommend downloading and saving your books locally as a backup.

Books created through MagicBook are for personal use only. You may print them, gift them, and share them with family and friends. Commercial use (selling, licensing, distributing for profit) requires a separate commercial license — contact licensing@themagicbook.app.

We take children’s privacy extremely seriously:

• All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3)
• Photos are deleted within 30 days of book completion
• We never sell personal information
• We comply with COPPA, CCPA/CPRA, and GDPR
• We do not allow children under 13 to create accounts

All AI-generated content passes through automated content moderation guardrails designed to ensure age-appropriateness and child safety. Our system checks both story text and generated illustrations for inappropriate content before delivering your book.

If you encounter any content that violates our Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to report@themagicbook.app. For child safety emergencies, contact your local law enforcement and the NCMEC CyberTipline at www.cybertipline.org.

First make the storybook starring them. Then go to Send a book as a gift (also under Account), pick the book, add their email and a message, and pay $7.99. We email them a link right away. When they open it, they get their own copy of the book — with its PDF — in their MagicBook library. Yours stays in your library.

Tap “Open my gift” in the gift email. If you don’t have an account yet, you’ll be asked to create one (free). Your own copy of the book is then added to your library, ready to read and download.

You can request account deletion through your Account settings or by emailing support@themagicbook.app. You’ll have 30 days to download your books before they are permanently deleted. Account data is removed per our data retention policy.

Yes, you can update your email address in your Account settings. You’ll need to verify the new email address before the change takes effect.

Click “Sign In” on the homepage, then enter your email address. We’ll send you a magic link to sign in. You can then update your password in your Account settings.
